Endowed Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship
The University of Dallas National Alumni Board established the Endowed Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship in 1994 to support admitted and current students who have had a parent, grandparent, or sibling graduate from the University. Students from all colleges are eligible to apply but a student may only receive the award one time during his or her academic experience at UD. Two awards will be given annually at $2,500 each. All applications and application materials for the 2025-2026 academic year must be received by 5:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Requirements:
- Applicants must submit an essay describing the influence of UD alumni on their lives.
- Applicants must be at least half-time students.
- Applicants must have a parent, grandparent, or sibling who is an alumnus/a in good standing with the University of Dallas.
Guidelines:
- Scholarships are for tuition only.
- An applicant’s academic status will be considered, but will not be the single determining factor.
- An applicant’s need for financial assistance will be considered, but will not be the single determining factor.
- Recipients will also agree to have their biography and/or essay published in University publications.
Selection Process:
- The NAB Recruitment & Scholarship Committee will receive applications and essays from the Office of Development and University Relations and Financial Aid.
- NAB members who are related to applicants shall recuse themselves from decisions concerning those applicants.
- The Director of Financial Aid will screen all applicants to ensure that they meet the basic qualifications.
- The committee will determine the finalists and present those names in rank order to the Director of Financial Aid.
- The Director of Financial Aid will apply the awards based on the rank order of the committee and the impact of the award on each finalist’s aid package. Should a finalist decline the award or not attend during the award year, another finalist may be given the award.
